Creative Services Studio Manager

We’re on the hunt for a detail-oriented person who thrives in a dynamic environment to manage resourcing, timelines and budget for visual initiatives for our integrated brand communications agency. The creative services studio manager will work closely with Maxwell’s creative director, graphic designers, content specialists and account teams to produce a wide variety of deliverables for national consumer clients. This role includes managing both large and small creative projects, including the collection of assets and information from inception to completion. We’re looking for a teammate who is flexible, responsive, proactive, organized, has a keen eye for detail and quality, and is able to approach challenges with problem-solving mindset. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who brings an array of technical skills.

Grow Your Career

  • Lead design and writing team communications and workflows, ensuring an effective exchange of information and deliverables
  • Resource new assignments to designers, photographers and writers, leveraging the expertise of the team members and tapping into your rolodex of contacts as needed
  • Manage internal traffic systems, including scheduling and workflow, tracking progress daily and re-prioritizing as needed
  • Route work for approval and client delivery, communicating with client services teams on project status regularly
  • Ensure final deliverables are on time and meet project specs
  • Identify, negotiate and maintain productive relationships with outside resources and vendors
  • Scope and estimate projects to best utilize client’s resources, and track as projects progress
  • Ensure the creative team has the assets they need to deliver on the brief
  • Help prioritize workloads and manage team time efficiently
  • Advocate for team needs while meeting client expectations
  • Manage production of photo shoots, including talent, prop and location sourcing, permitting, etc.
  • Jump in and help at all level of tasks
  • Keep work flowing past bottlenecks and stay alert to scope creep
  • Lead creative services team meetings, defining action steps and capturing key takeaways

Bring Your Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience with project management and/or traffic management at small- to medium-sized design or photography studio, or brand agency
  • Experience with digital mediums, including web, photography and videography
  • Experience working with suppliers and vendors to negotiate job costs and schedules
  • Network of creative resources, from freelance writers and designers to production artists and print shops
  • Track record of building and maintaining agency creative service partnerships and vendor relationships
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation
  • Strong emotional intelligence in tune with client and team needs
  • Passion for Maxwell’s CPG clients and previous design experience a plus
