Content Director

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Are you a creative editorial genius with a knack for creating compelling branded content and measuring success? Maxwell, an integrated marketing agency working with category-leading national consumer brands, is looking for a dynamic leader to drive content strategy and work alongside the team to produce concepts, copy and campaigns. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative writer and visual thinker energized by the power of compelling content to connect with audiences, build brand awareness and drive sales. They enjoy working across teams, inspiring creatives to do their best work, and are comfortable navigating loosely defined opportunities and fluid team structures. They are a born collaborator with a proven ability to bring ideas to life, sell in concepts, and deliver impact. If that’s you – and you live and breathe emerging trends, especially in food – we want to meet. The role will work closely with our Digital Marketing Director and Creative Director, and report to the agency Principal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy to help drive our clients’ businesses forward through the use of creative content marketing
  • Lead development of creative consumer campaigns, crafting briefs, leading brainstorms, capturing concepts and selling in ideas
  • Create and implement omnichannel content strategies based on a deep understanding of customer behavior, brand needs, market trends and competitive forces
  • Manage in-house content creators and community managers, motivating them to do their best work and helping them expand their expertise
  • Work effectively across teams to manage programs and deliver work that ensures production quality and adherence to scoped expectations
  • Oversee all social content and support campaigns as a creative writer/editor
  • Set quality standards, and develop systems and processes that ensure efficiencies, teamwork and role clarity
  • Demonstrate thought leadership as a client advocate, ensuring a senior eye on the work and healthy relationships
  • Develop project scopes and pricing so content work delivers optimal ROI for both our clients and the company
  • Lead efforts to position the agency’s expertise in the industry via our own owned content, playing an active role in contributing to new client growth

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Journalism preferred
  • 8-10 years agency, editorial and/or other relevant consumer marketing experience
  • Experience leading content marketing programs, managing social media and activating ecommerce
  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms and performance measurement tools
  • Detail oriented with exceptional listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Digital and social channel experience a must, traditional advertising a plus
